Upskilling in the realm of remote work via our masterclasses

Here at Growmotely, we’re pumped about learning. We can’t help it; it’s how we’re wired. Stay curious, stay open is one of our five company values, and let’s state what’s true --> curiosity and learning go hand-in-hand.

With the recent opening of our community (yay!), we have decided to give a renewed focus to learning. More specifically, our Events Manager – Andreea Gătin – has put together a new line-up of masterclasses ‘this season’ that has a laser focus on upskilling in the realm of remote work. 🥳

Bottom line is this: you are all in for a treat! (Look. I can speak with authority, as – including the exceptional masterclass that I attended earlier this week – I have attended ten masterclasses powered by Growmotely, and I have even delivered one myself…!)

And speaking of our masterclass experts, Lisa Stephenson – who delivered our ‘Resilience in Remote Work’ masterclass last month – is known for saying (and I wholeheartedly agree): “You don’t know what you don’t know.” This truth is powerful in all spheres, and it is no less so when we’re talking about the realm of remote work.

Perhaps you’ve heard of the ‘Conscious Competence Learning Model’? If not – let’s dive in quickly here:

Stage 1: Unconscious incompetence
--> We are terrible at something, but we don’t even know it, because we don’t even know the thing or skill in question exists. (Otherwise known as ‘ignorant bliss’.) 🙃

Stage 2: Conscious incompetence
--> Something happens (e.g. we attend a Growmotely masterclass) and we are now aware that this thing is a thing, and that we are terrible at it. Wild! 🙃

Stage 3 --> Conscious competence
 --> We want to be good at the thing, so we work hard to become competent at this skill. All the while – we are painfully aware of every step we take! This newfound competence is not yet completely integrated into our person.

Stage 4 --> Unconscious competence
--> We are so good – and we’ve been doing the thing well for so long – that it’s like breathing. We’re barely aware of how awesome we are at the thing. So cool!

Here at Growmotely, we’re all about consciousness, and in the sphere of learning, that shows up in our interest to move from stage 1 to stage 2 whenever we can. And once we arrive at stage 2, we’re all about moving from stage 2 to stage 3, and then to stage 4 when it comes to the skills that we deem useful, and those that light us on fire.
